Human Rights... fighting discrimination in marginalized communities

Framework Media produced a series of profiles on outstanding grassroots organizations effectively addressing HIV and AIDS in their communities. The project was commissioned by UNAIDS (Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS) and included organizations based in Malawi, Kenya, Estonia, India, Haiti, and Mexico. Together, the profiles show the many faces of those impacted by AIDS - from sex workers to orphans, this is an epidemic with global reach that does not discriminate.

This profile covers the work of Fortaleciendo la Diversidad, an organization started by transgender sex workers in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The organization focuses on ensuring that the human rights of those in their community are observed and that sex workers are aware of how to protect themselves from HIV infection.
